Brian Miller
Director of Development

Professional Journey
Brian’s 25-year career has been built on a foundation of craft and commitment. After earning his degree in Construction Management from Penn State, he began his career in heavy civil work at Dick Corporation, managing bridge, infrastructure, and power plant projects across Pennsylvania.
He later joined Massaro Corporation, where he rose to Project Manager overseeing large-scale commercial projects in healthcare, education, and hospitality—including landmark builds for Magee-Womens Research Institute, WVU Sports Medicine, and the North Shore Residence Inn. In 2012, Jendoco Construction recruited him to manage Carnegie Mellon University’s Sherman and Joyce Bowie Scott Hall—a complex nanoscience facility requiring unparalleled precision.
Since joining Elmhurst in 2016, Brian has led the firm’s most ambitious developments, combining rigorous engineering oversight with a clear understanding of Elmhurst’s broader mission: creating spaces that drive both economic and civic progress for Pittsburgh. His work reflects the company’s brand pillars of integrity, partnership, and stewardship—ensuring every project stands not only as an asset, but as a legacy.
“Building spaces that endure means building relationships that last — with teams, partners, and communities.”
Character Shaping Contribution
Each Elmhurst team member brings a distinct sense of purpose — shaped by interests, values, and perspectives that extend beyond the office. These glimpses into life outside work reveal the same qualities that define Elmhurst’s culture of care, discipline, and long-term vision.
