As Director of Leasing, Eric Schindler leads all leasing strategy across Elmhurst’s portfolio, guiding prospects from first tour to signed agreement and successful move-in. He connects architecture, construction, finance, operations, and legal into a unified process—ensuring that every deal is clear, accurate, and positioned for long-term value. His work strengthens Elmhurst’s relationships across brokerage, tenant representation, and legal communities while helping tenants find the right spaces to grow.

Professional Journey

Eric brings more than three decades of real estate experience shaped by hands-on work, deep market understanding, and a career spent solving highly complex leasing challenges. Before joining Elmhurst, he gained extensive development and leasing expertise at Mosites Development Company, where he administered management functions, collaborated on build-to-suit projects, and oversaw leasing activity across industrial properties, shopping centers, and office developments.

Earlier in his career at JJ Gumberg Company, Eric served as both Real Estate Manager and Credit Manager—roles that sharpened his ability to evaluate tenant financials, negotiate renewals, procure new tenants, and coordinate closely with accounting, legal, and property management teams. His experience managing nearly 3 million square feet of retail real estate provided the foundation for the strategic, numbers-driven approach he brings to every Elmhurst transaction.

Eric’s path into commercial real estate began even earlier, during years spent in manufacturing and specialty steel production—an experience that shaped his understanding of operational environments, work ethic, and the needs of tenants who build and produce. Today, he is one of Elmhurst’s most seasoned cross-functional collaborators, partnering daily with brokers, architects, construction teams, attorneys, tenants, and Elmhurst’s executive leadership to ensure every deal is thoughtful, well-structured, and aligned with the firm’s long-term philosophy.
