Ralph Black

At Elmhurst, Ralph is the primary on-site lead at Airside Business Park while also providing coverage for McClaren Woods. He manages preventive maintenance programs, responds to service needs, and works closely with tenants to address issues quickly and safely. By pairing his mechanical expertise with clear communication, he helps protect asset value and sustain the kind of operating reliability that industrial users depend on.

Before joining Elmhurst, Ralph spent more than a decade as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician with JB Mechanical in Washington, Pennsylvania. In that role, he troubleshot and serviced commercial HVAC equipment, handled both single and three-phase systems, performed preventative maintenance, and installed new equipment according to blueprints and schematics, all while documenting work through service software.   This experience gave him a detailed understanding of how critical infrastructure behaves in real-world conditions and how to keep it performing over time.

Earlier in his career, he owned Arjays LLC. In this residential home improvement business, he managed sales, estimating, repairs, installations, and bookkeeping, and he worked in estimator and sales roles at Burns and Scalo Roofing, earning multiple “Salesman of the Year” awards. Time at Home Depot further honed his customer service and problem-solving skills on the retail side. Combined with an associate degree in specialized business with a focus on accounting, his background provides him with a rare blend of technical skills, project awareness, and cost consciousness that he brings to his responsibilities as a site manager at Elmhurst.
